The marketing & business development manager position at PETERMAYER is designed to be a hybrid role that gives you the opportunity to gain cross-discipline experience while providing support across adjacent disciplines within the agency. You will report to and work closely with the VP, Director of Marketing & Business Development, but will also collaborate with the Strategy, Social Media, PR and Account teams. This is a role for someone who is looking to stretch themselves, build broad expertise and take an active hand in shaping their career path while maintaining ownership of core business development and marketing functions.
PETERMAYER is a New Orleans-based integrated marketing agency that specializes in building brands’ cultural capital and translating it into functional business results. We are the oldest and largest agency in Louisiana, founded by Peter Mayer in 1967, and to this day remain proudly independent and family-owned. The agency enjoys a strong reputation throughout Louisiana and the Gulf region, but is something of a “best kept secret” outside of the region. Core Marketing & Business Development Job Duties
- Research prospects and create dossiers/“get smart quick” docs
- Draft RFP responses and support proposal deck development
- Work with Strategy and Account team leads to draft case studies
- Manage workflow to post new work: written/video case studies, assets for website, assets for social media, assets to pitch for PR
- Manage planning and development of agency marketing assets including case study videos, reels, photo shoots, social posts
- Coordinate and support primary and secondary research for pitches
- Create and maintain library of all new business materials
- Maintain New Biz playbook with current data for RFPs
- Manage follow-up efforts during and after the RFP phase
- Assist with developing and managing prospect list
- Track key prospects and alert the Biz Dev team of news
- Keep online new business directories and search consultant databases current
Hybrid/Flex Job Duties
The following functions are adjacent to, but in direct support of, agency marketing and business development. The expectation isn’t that you will be responsible for all, but that you will have the opportunity to lean into the adjacencies that are most in line with your individual professional strengths and interests.
- Research potential PR stories, identify media contacts and draft story pitches
- Partner with social media team to develop content calendar for agency social posts
- Partner with social media manager to analyze and share-out agency social media performance
- Partner with strategy group to conduct research and develop agency IP
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3-5 years in a creative, branding or PR agency environment
- Business development experience
- Strong desk research skills
- Strong writing skills
- PR experience a plus
