They have an intuitive understanding of behavioral and technology trends while being proficient in the fundamentals of social media including strategy, content, influencer marketing, community management and paid social.
This position acts as an interpreter, translating a brand’s strategy into a inspiring, impactful and effective social narrative told across a spectrum of platforms. They have their eye on the horizon of social media and are constantly looking for proactive ways to elevate client’s social presence and deepen brand love.
This person has experience designing and implementing content strategies firmly rooted in overall brand strategy. This position requires an in-depth knowledge of how people use social platforms and a relentless interest in understanding the shifting landscape of culture, social media and technology.
This position may also oversee other team members, leading their growth and assuring standards of excellence across the team.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Develop Social Media and Content Strategies
- Perform research and analysis to uncover insights (human truths, brand truths, category truths, platform truths, etc.) that are essential for developing social strategies
- Develop strategies and accompanying creative briefs that define channel strategies, choice of platform, their role and KPIs relevant to client objectives
- Work closely with brand strategy, comms planning and media teams to design full-funnel campaigns that meet audience expectations while delivering on client’s goals
- Lead development of and ensure execution against brand’s social playbook
- Create internal and client-facing presentations that weave storytelling, research and data into impactful narratives
Anticipate Brand and Audience Opportunities
- Translate research from multiple sources into results-driven recommendations
- Identify, document and share best practices, cultural trends and new platform innovation with teams and clients on an ongoing basis
- Independently create recommendations in response to community needs, crises and cultural shifts, using research and an extensive knowledge of social media + key account industries
Collaborate To Elevate Social Opportunities
- Act as a springboard for creative development and an ongoing partner providing guidance from start to finish regarding platforms, paid/organic approaches, behavior and trends
- Continually build and nurture client relationships through education about the content space, emerging platform recommendations, elevating feedback, expanding audiences, etc
- Use social analytics and listening tools to create insights-driven reports detailing findings such as conversation drivers and consumer sentiment
- Partner with media and analytics team to track KPI effectiveness and inform ongoing creative optimization
- Continuously curate inspirational and educational social media-related content to share across teams
Professional Requirements
- 4+ experience of digital marketing experience with brands, organizations or established communities
- 2+ years of coordinating and managing social media across multiple channels
- Experience in the development of successful paid and organic social media strategies
- Demonstrated success in integrating social media with broader brand ecosystem
- Working knowledge of social media measurement tools like SproutSocial, Nielsen, BuzzMetrics, or similar tools for measuring and tracking metrics
- Social media certification in programs such as Facebook Blueprint, HootSuite, SproutSocial etc. a plus
- Active and prolific presence, engagement and creative use of social media platforms are tablestakes. Provide links to profiles as examples

- Fluency with social platforms from strategic and feature based perspectives
- Able to collaborate with multiple teammates, departments and agency partners
- Excellent verbal and communication skills with ability to present ideas and information clearly and confidently
- Able to jump from the creative side of marketing to strategic side, able to demonstrate why ideas are analytically sound
- Extreme attention to detail and outstanding organization skills
- Diligent work ethic with a desire to expand skill set while consistently learning
- Able to think quickly (but not rashly) and prioritize
